Election Result
On Wed 5th May Rathmell school held a mock election. 4 candidates each gave an election address before pupils & teachers voted.
The result was declared on Thursday 6th May with most votes going to the Conservative candidate whose campaign slogan was "Joe,the candidate with the get up & go".
The Big Tidy
On Friday 23rd April children in Class 2 took part in the Big Tidy a national initiative by Keep Britain Tidy.The children walked through the village & collected a sack full of litter.It is, however fair to say that Rathmell is a tidy virtually litter free village.

On Wednesday 10th December 2008 we had the official opening ceremony of the new school extension.
The Rt Revd David james, Bishop of Bradford and Cynthia Welbourne (NYCC Corporate Director - Children and Young Peoples Service) cut the ribbon and officially declared the building open. Other guests who attended included Helen Williams and Philip Smith from the Diocese Education Team, Richard Radley and the school governors who had been involved in the project.
Following the opening all the guests, staff members and children were treated to a delicious Christmas lunch, prepared by the school catering team in the refurbished and much improved kitchen. |
